Since 1847, August Bournonville's spirited love-letter to the vibrancy of the Italian city has captured imaginations of ballet lovers, sweeping us into a bright and beautiful romance with deft choreography and exuberant expression. Now Oregon Ballet Theatre open the season on a high, becoming the first U.S company to stage their own production of this three act piece, lending their talents to this decidedly Danish classic.

Following the story of Teresina and the object of her attention, the poor but handsome fisherman Gennaro and the strange adventure they embark on to an undersea realm when Teresina is kidnapped by an evil sea spirit, Napoli takes you from the streets of 19th century Naples to an enchanting aquatic realm.
