What An Opener!

Oregon Symphony Orchestra open their season with a grand program featuring the talents of violin virtuoso Joshua Bell! The star musician's supreme ability will be on display for Saint-Sans' magnificent Violin Concerto No. 3, with the piece and performer colliding to perfect show off the full extent of the possibilities on the instrument. 

Alongside Saint-Sans, the audience will also be treated to George Bizet's L'Arlsienne Suite No. 1 as well as the unmistakeable tones of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, a piece which proved a breakthrough for the composer, becoming an instant classic and solidifying a long and celebrated career thanks to its glittering imagery, Russian folk-tinged rhythms and rising climactic movements.
