Amos Lee

August 25, 2019

One of the shining stars of modern folk, Amos Lee crosses the genres of folk, soul and jazz and calls on Stevie Wonder and James Taylor as major influences. His 2011 album 'Mission Bell' topped the Billboard charts and included contributions from Willie Nelson among others. His follow-up may have been met with mixed reviews, but as with any singer-songwriter of this genre, it's at a live performance where the magic is truly made.

Seattle indie rock collective Death Cab for Cutie's rise from small-time solo project to emotive, Grammy-nominated rock trio is one of the genre's greatest success stories. Don't miss the indie rock pioneers when they head out on tour in 2019 in support of brand new release Thank You For Today!

If there was any justice in the world, John Prine would be a household name. Playing in the Chicago folk scene of the early '70s, Prine was plucked from obscurity by Kris Kristofferson, an endorsement which helped to land him his first recording contract. Bob Dylan is also one of his biggest fans, terming Prine's work "pure Proustian existentialism". He's a singer who trades in life's little details, imbuing everyday existence with a kind of romantic grandeur. Now in his 60s, Prine is still going strong. It may be a while since his last record but he always seems to be on the road. He tends to tour with a very sparse backing band, leaving his words front and center, just as they should be.
