BRILLIANT

Excellent live concert, bravo to the entire band. Great sound in that theatre.

PURE MAGIC. THIS WAS A TOP FIVE CONCERT IN MY 45 YEARS OF ATTENDING CONCERTS!

Wow. I am blown away by the brothers. And i think they were blown away by the incredibl amont of love emanating from this audience. Lincoln theater holds up to 800 people...and this was a sold out show. The band was fantastic...Russell's voice was excellent and his energy was off the charts. The venue had excellent acoustics and affordable drinks. There are about a hundred stools upstairs if you get there early. The staff was super nice as well. This is a place that is reminiscent of venues 30 years ago...but is one of the best to see and hear a band up close and personal.

SPARKS: A TIMELESS LOVEFEST

As Ron Mael said from the stage, while he and Russel basked in the extended applause after the last song of the night, "this is a venue." It was to mark the difference between playing the Disney Concert Hall and the Lincoln Theater: the intimacy of the smaller 'venue,' with fans who have followed the band over their 50+ year career, was what made it possible for Sparks to do what they do so well: defy all expectations, from one song to the next, with consistently original music. While most modern music can be conveniently placed in one category or another, you will never be able to put Sparks in a box, and there is much joy--and laughter--to be had in this. I could tell you more about how tight the band was, of Russell's superb vocal gymnastics, even Ron's dancing and the clarity of the house mix, but instead I'll say this: after the show, I spoke with a 65 year old man who flew from Ohio for the show. He told me that at age 12, he decided "Sparks is my band." We all felt that way.

WONDERFUL

I thought Sparks were incredible, seen them before so not suprised by the quality of the show. Such a great set list, so energetically performed. Great backing band, 👏. Someone mentioned the dropped in row seating. I Have long legs and at my very spot it bent too close to the row in front so luckily we were seated early and being strong enough I adjusted it myself

SONGSELECTION

yes of course they were magic but what nags me is their poor choice of songs which seemed to have a direct correlation with what got commented on in the documentary.I predict ,Tips for teens Angst in my pants and especially Under the table with her are dated clunkers taking up valuable space when there is an endless amount of rich material that never gets played. The warhorses trotted out in the latter half of the show got everyone on their feet but alas I wanted more.o to hear Whippings and apologies.

HORRIBLE VENUE EXPERIENCE (NO REFLECTION ON THE BAND)

My Star Rating is only for the Shubert Theatre, which was an enormous bummer. (I would give Sparks 10 stars if I could; they were fabulous!) I paid extra for what I thought was a front-row seat and it was literally in the front row of the installed seats, but the venue created a fake "pit" area in front of my row with movable chairs that were taller than ours, and they placed a barrier between my row and the pit that left us with almost no leg room. On top of that, the sound system (again, not the band's fault) was terrible, with tons of distortion. Practically everyone in my group of seats got up and stood on the far edge of the theater to preserve their hearing. The venue placed a sour note on top of what was otherwise a great show by a band with superb musicianship, wit, and an unmatched generosity of spirit. I'm glad I had a chance to see them, but I have severe buyer's remorse for my seats. Anyone who purchased cheaper upper balcony seats likely had the best seats in the house.
