Jakes' hypnotizing hip gyrations and gravity-defying balancing acts stun the audience into submission, while the band reminds them that they've come to shake their own booties, too.

Don't Miss High Octane Performers Beats Antique

First formed to provide the music to legendary producer Miles Copland's Bellydance Superstars troupe, Beats Antique is composed of David Satori on the guitar, saz and viola, Sidecar Tommy Cappel on the keys and toy piano, and Zoe Jakes, belly dancer, and composer extraordinaire. Together the experimental trio creates a heady fusion of Balkan-style wedding music, electronica, Middle Eastern riffs, Gypsy Jazz and flamenco amongst other world music genres, all packaged within a highly entertaining live show.

Beat's Antique fascinating traveling roadshow of aural and visual delights often calls to mind a cabaret atmosphere. Featuring Jakes' mesmeric belly dancing, gravity-defying acrobatics, aerial silk performances, and a shapeshifting set design, the outfit brings more than just their incredibly groovy music to the table. Past performances have included pompom-waving cheerleaders, a dancer in a full-body chicken suit and a fully-fledged horn section.
