Septime Webre's trippy 'Alice (in Wonderland)' is dazzling

Down the rabbit hole we go! Septime Webre's internationally renowned and trippy Alice in Wonderland makes its Portland debut with the Oregon Ballet! With a lively score by Matthew Pierce and costumes by Liz Vandal, we follow Alice on her magical journey to the strange world of Wonderland, where surprises wait behind every corner! Debuting at the Washington Ballet in 2012, this zany take on Lewis Carroll's timeless story combines spirited choreography with an eclectic score by Matthew Pierce.
Septimus Webre brilliantly captures the enchanting and absurd nature of Wonderland in his bright and unique staging of Alice, infusing the characters with their trademark eccentricity in this luscious feast for the eyes. An original creation for the Washington Ballet, his version has been hugely popular at the Kansas City and Cincinnati Ballets bringing a recognizable spark to the ballet for audiences, both young and old.
