Why See Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again.?
A Provocative Analysis of the Treatment of Women
Capturing the plight, pressure and uprising of modern day women, Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. is an opposition to the saying that states "well behaved women seldom make history." The play, written by Alice Birch explores the inequalities that women face in society and the fierce feminism that gives them a voice.
Featuring the story of young women who are just starting to deal with the realities of a sexist society, the experimental play dissects language, double standards, objectifications and the struggles that heterosexual couples face in an unequal world. Through a series of scenarios and the poignant use of language, female characters who are depicted as lovers, mothers and daughters navigate their lives as women in an energetic and thought provoking play.
