One of, if not the most famous work in the entire classical canon, it's a hair-raising piece known and loved by pretty much everyone, even those who've never in their life set foot in a concert hall. Let yourself be transported into an epic world of outstanding melody and thrilling creativity from those fateful first four bars!

Opening the programme will be Gabriela Lena Frank's 2016 Walkabout: Concerto for Orchestra, followed by Witold Lutoslawski's Cello Concerto from 1970; both pieces being performed by the Oregon Symphony for the first time. Finally, Beethoven's masterpiece will close the performance with a bang, one of the greatest grand finales an audience could possibly witness!
