LIKE IT'S 1974!

Their "Live" album was released in '74 after they broke up, so the tour wasn't seen by many who grew up with that version of the band. This was an incredible performance of that classic record in my Life! Thanks to the lord that they are still able to perform at this level! Thanks to Ian Hunter for finally permitting this version of the group to rock the world once more!

THE MAGIC OF MOTT THE HOOPLE!

One of my all time favorite bands. I became a fan in 1974, so this was the first opportunity to see them live. I traveled from Houston, Texas to see the show. So glad I did. There was a magic about the show, between the fans and the band, and the songs they performed that was uniquely Mott! It is easy to see how they influenced The Clash and Queen and can add Mick Jagger and the late great David Bowie as fans. Thanks Ian!

RANTING ABOUT MOTT THE HOOPLE

I’ve enjoyed Ian Hunter’s solo work for years and occasionally still throw MTH on the platter. This wasn’t a note by note recreation of studio versions. Sweet Jane, I Wish I was Your Mother and others were played in different arrangements that worked. They played with great timing, humor, and energy that had me forget my discussion with fellow fans about their ages, and my own. Smiled the whole night. Cleveland rocked last night at the Masonic. Thank you boys.
