A bumbling playboy pasha bored with his harem decides his passions will be re-ignited with the love of an Italian girl. Lucky for him Isabella has just begun working in his palace and her nationality fits the bill! Rather less luckily, Isabella only has eyes for Lindoro, her captured lover and she's hatching a plan to rescue him...
Giddy and comic, this hilarious farce typifies Rossini's energetic and bombastic style as the story of Isabella plays out in the grandeur of Mustafa's palace. Never before has the tale of a philandering husband and his long-suffering wife been quite so entertaining!
