KELLER AUDITORIUM

Portland Center for the Performing Arts, 222 South West Clay, Portland, OR 97201

Keller Auditorium History
The Keller Auditorium is the fourth name for a building that was opened back in 1917 as the Civic Auditorium. It originally held around 4,500 guests but that number is now less after renovations in the second half of the 20th Century. It was renamed the Keller Auditorium - having previously been the Portland Public Auditorium and the Portland Municipal Auditorium - in 2000 after a donation from Richard Keller. It is home to many of Portland's classical entertainment groups and has also had many Broadway touring productions on its stage. Two of the most famous people to have spoken at the Keller have been General Dwight Eisenhower and John F Kennedy, back in 1956 and 1960.
